I don’t think I will ever forget just how amazing it felt walking out of that side street and stepping onto the sand of that beautiful Hawaiian beach, for the very first time.

I’m not quite sure what it was that I expected to see, but this had well and truly surpassed any of my wildest expectations, at least one million times over.

In fact, no words could even begin to describe just how beautiful that beach was. Not even a room full of world class photographs could have done it justice, its beauty was something you had to see to believe.

As far as beaches go, it was absolutely breath taking.

Everything from the colour of the sand, right down to the way the palm trees swayed in the breeze was like a scene from a Hollywood movie. The water was so blue and so clear that it glistened like diamonds in the sun, and from the very second that it caught your eye, it made you instantly want to jump in.

So, despite being absolutely terrible in the ocean, that is exactly what I did. It was then, as I was laying there floating across the water in my $8 hire-a-floatie, that I stopped for a moment to take it all in.

After spending years and years dreaming of this exact moment, I was finally here. I was spending the day in Hawaii, relaxing at one of the most beautiful beaches that I had ever laid eyes on. A beach that was so beautiful and so perfect, that even the clouds looked as though they were part of a dream. A dream that I was lucky enough to be living in, with five of the most important people in my life.

A beautiful Hawaiian dream that I never, ever wanted to wake up from.
